The North Hastings Inspiration Place will expand the current services offered by the North Hastings Public Library to include a community hub on Cleak Avenue in the Town of Bancroft. The Town of Bancroft and the Townships of Faraday and Limerick partnered in this community initiative, to support library operations providing services to the greater area. Our space will be open to our surrounding community to come to connect with themselves, their peers and our many exciting services.
North Hastings Inspiration Place is a transformative new development that will bring a larger, modern library to the community along with community hub programming space and 40 new housing units to the heart of downtown Bancroft.
The new expanded North Hastings Public Library will offer dedicated adult and early learner spaces, flexible community rooms for club meetings, workshops, community and private events, as well as a garden space, maker space, and quite study area.
The Town of Bancroft, along with financial contributions from the Township of Faraday and the Township of Limerick, support the costs of library operations which provide services to their residents, other neighbours, and visitors to our community. North Hastings Public Library provides people with a safe place to connect with each other while offering many exciting services and programs.
The project has begun and funding has already been secured through municipal, provincial and federal sources in the amount of $1,874,900. Construction began in April 2025 with the library anticipating a move to its new home in the spring of 2027. We are excited to see this plan come to fruition. The government contributions alone will not complete this project, and we will rely on the support from our community to reach our $500,000 fundraising goal.
